RUPES BigFoot Backing Plates form a major part of the BigFoot Random Orbital Polishing System.

All of the BigFoot backing plates are made of moulded polyurethane foam, which is particularly resistant to mechanical stress. Furthermore, they are all engineered to meet a specific weight target, which ensures they work in harmony with the counterbalance in the machine they are intended for.

This, combined with the same approach to making the BigFoot polishing pads, ensures that the balance of each machine is optimised and that vibration levels are minimised.

The carefully positioned holes in each backing plate create an airflow pathway that dissipates frictional heat and helps to maintain safe working temperatures, even on relatively sensitive substrates such as aluminium and carbon fibre.

The material used to form the hook and loop fastening system on all of the BigFoot backing plates is particularly effective, providing solid anchoring and exceptional pad/disc stability while each machine is in use.
